Tammy Hoffman is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology and Social Sciences. She began her career in education teaching middle school Bible classes at a private Christian school. She has taught middle and high school students at both Christian and public schools, as well as been a school administrator, Admissions Director, Guidance Counselor, and Director of Aviation at a private school. She began teaching college Psychology classes in 2011 and realized that was her passion, because the information taught in these classes is highly applicable and relevant. She found many of the concepts she taught to be incredibly insightful, and, as an educator, she desires to teach these concepts to others to help them realize their potential.
She earned her B.A. in English from Florida Atlantic University, her M.A. in Human Services: Marriage & Family Specialization, her Education Specialist in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University, and her Ph.D. in Education: Curriculum and Instruction from Florida Atlantic University.
She has written a book, Journey through the Eight Stages of Grief, to educate and encourage others as they go through the grieving process after any type of loss. She has also spoken on the topic of grieving, as well as a variety of other topics, as a guest speaker at schools, women’s retreats, and to other groups, as well as presented at conferences to teachers in South Florida.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and their families, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoys relaxing, exercising, and shopping. On a warm sunny day she can be found doing anything with water, such as boating, kayaking, and going to the beach. On a rainy day she can be found at the nearest Target.
