Equally comfortable behind the piano or organ keyboard as he is in front of a choir or classroom, Geoffrey North is a multi-talented musician: performer, composer, conductor, and educator. Living in Fort Wayne since 2010, he has become an integral part of the city’s musical life, through his work at First Wayne Street UMC where he is the Director of Music and Organist, and as faculty at both Purdue Fort Wayne (where he teaches music theory and aural perception, as well as accompanying the University Singers) and Trine University in Angola (where he teaches music appreciation and directs the University Choir). He is in demand as a musician of uncommon sensitivity, warmth and versatility. He is particularly passionate about the human and social implications in music and works to foster and encourage a love for music in all he meets. He strives to perform, conduct, or create music that is engaging and accessible, whether it is a Buxtehude organ work, a spiritual arranged by Moses Hogan, or piano music by minimalist composers.
