During my own college education, I developed an interest in HR and organization development (OD). Over time my interest in HR and OD expanded to the strategic focus required in HR and Strategic Management in an organization. I am proud to say that I earned an SHRM - SCP and SPHR. Two professional HR certifications.
Most of my hobbies and interests revolve around my family. I enjoy volunteering to help with my daughter's activities and serve on the local swim team board. My family loves watching movies, cooking, traveling and reading.
In service to my profession, I am a member of the yearly conference committee for the Northeast Indiana Human Resources Association. I think I acquired my interest in politics when our family lived in New York. After being on a legislative committee for a SHRM group, I recognized the significant impact of government on the HR profession. I have closely followed politics since then.
