I am a Purdue graduate with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics. While at Purdue, I took an active role in nutrition research, focusing on protein intake and exercise in relation to appetite and ingestive behaviors. I completed my dietetic internship at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston and my master’s degree in nutrition science at Texas Woman’s University. I then taught three years of food science and culinary arts at Lamar International Baccalaureate High School.
My favorite part of working in the nutrition field is the opportunity to empower others to take charge of their health through positive dietary changes that will benefit them and their families indefinitely. I enjoy spreading nutrition information and developing and sharing healthy recipes through my food and nutrition blog, “Wholly Plants.”
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy all things food, such as cooking and baking, discovering new restaurants and shooting food photographs. I also enjoy traveling, reading and playing tennis.
