Summary
The Academic Director provides critical oversight to academic programs, faculty, curriculum, and academic operations. This role ensures the smooth administration of academic programs, with a particular focus on maintaining academic quality, faculty engagement, and student success. The Academic Director collaborates with faculty, students, and administrative staff to drive program effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage academic programs by overseeing faculty, curriculum implementation, and program development.
- Manage the scheduling process, taking full ownership, ensuring accurate, efficient scheduling each semester with appropriate faculty assignments.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of faculty, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Ensure quality assurance by reviewing course materials, maintaining compliance with Quality Matters (QM) standards, and supporting ongoing program assessments.
- Collaborate with enrollment and advising teams to support retention efforts and provide academic guidance for students.
- Lead accreditation, assessment, and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements to enhance program outcomes, ensure industry relevance, and support strategic growth
- Attend, lead, and participate in faculty meetings, committees, and university events as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Master’s degree required; will consider candidates currently pursuing a master’s degree schedule to complete within the next two years.
Preferred:
- Experience in online learning or higher education.
- Experience with advising students, student affairs, counseling, or related experience.
Experience with multiple modes of instructional delivery, as well as faculty oversight and coaching
