Summary

Trine University invites applications for a full-time director of transition to teaching/assistant professor in the Franks School of Education. The FSOE Director of Transition to Teaching is responsible for supporting and growing Trine’s Education Apprenticeship Model (TEAM). The ideal candidate is passionate about addressing staffing challenges within K-12 school districts, has a clear understanding of the challenges faced by first-year teachers, and is willing to collaborate with various stakeholders to innovate and solve problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support and administration of the TEAM program.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with K-12 school districts.
  • Identify and hire adjunct faculty.
  • Offer academic advising to TEAM candidates.
  • Design and implement effective hybrid learning environments.
  • Track and manage program and and candidate data for internal and external reporting
  • Manage existing grants, ensuring compliance with requirements and successful implementation.
  • Partner with workforce development initiatives to sustain and expand the registered teacher apprenticeship program.
  • Identify and pursue new grant opportunities to support program growth.
  • Stay informed on current research in teacher education.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and school partners to enhance program success.

Education and/or Experience

A doctorate in education (preferred) or a Master’s degree with at least five years of K-12 teaching or leadership experience in U.S. public schools.
