Practical experience is essential to shaping your future success. That's why Trine University offers an experiential learning track tailored to international students, allowing you to integrate real-world work experiences into your academic journey.

Program overview

The experiential learning track is designed for F-1 international students enrolled in eligible programs at Trine. Participating students have the opportunity to engage in internship experiences that are authorized for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) as an integral part of your program study. This opportunity is only available to students pursuing a master's or doctorate degree. Students pursuing an undergraduate degree must wait a minimum of one full academic year before requesting CPT authorization.

Track requirements

  • Graduate Internship Course: Students must be registered for, and pass, the graduate internship course each semester they are authorized for CPT.
  • Education Agreement: Students must have a signed Education Agreement with their employer, which can be found in the CPT application.
  • Academic Performance: A minimum average cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required to remain in good standing with the experiential learning track.
