Tribute to Presley, Cash, Lewis and Perkins coming to Trine

February 09, 2026

On Dec. 4, 1956, four rock and roll legends came together for a studio session.

Nearly 70 years later, fans can get a taste of what that music sounded like at Trine University’s T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.

One Night in Memphis, featuring the iconic music of Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash, will take the stage inside the Ryan Concert Hall beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 14.

Tickets, which range from $35-$45, are on sale at trine.edu/furthtickets.

Rock and roll greats in their prime

Featuring authentic rockabilly, country, gospel and 1950s rock and roll, One Night in Memphis re-creates the music of the Sun Records recording artists at their prime.

The session had been booked by Perkins, with Lewis, who hadn’t yet become a star, playing the piano and Cash and Presley stopping by later. Sam Phillips of Sun Studios recorded the session and called the local newspaper, which wrote about and photographed “The Million Dollar Quartet.”

Created and directed by John Mueller, One Night in Memphis is performed live and stars former cast members of the Broadway smash musical, “Million Dollar Quartet.”
