The Trine University Board of Trustees has added two new members, both with strong
family ties to the university.
Alexander J. Furth, co-founder, partner and president of P2G Capital Partners, is
the son of Dr. Tomas Furth, distinguished alumnus, trustee emeritus and namesake of
the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.
Dennis Argyle, senior vice president and chief financial officer for Knight Facilities
Management in Saginaw, Michigan, is the father of two Trine alumni and one current
student.
“It’s always encouraging to see legacies continue at Trine University and in its leadership,
but Alex and Dennis bring much more to the Board of Trustees than family ties,” said
Dr. Rick L. James, chair of Trine University’s Board of Trustees.
“They each have a successful track record and will provide wisdom and expertise that
will enhance the strong leadership team Trine University is already blessed with.”
“Each of our new board members brings a unique perspective and valuable insights to
the role, whether as a member of a family that’s been involved with the university
for more than 70 years or as a parent,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine University
president. “We’re proud to welcome them to the Board of Trustees and look forward
to seeing how their guidance will help the university continue to flourish.”
Alexander Furth
Alexander (Alex) Furth’s father, Dr. Tomas Furth, earned degrees from Trine University
(then Tri-State College) in 1954 and 1955, and served for 27 years on the university’s
Board of Trustees.
Alex Furth holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial chemistry from the
University of Buenos Aires and an MBA from the Stern School of Business.
His career began overseeing Mexican subsidiaries for a Philadelphia-based chemical
company. With family members and a partner, he created a Venezuela-based public group
that produced textiles, synthetic fibers and fiberglass, eventually serving as president
and CEO.
He was CEO and chairman for a startup company that produced and commercialized software
and hardware for high-speed robotic and crane control applications. When that company
was purchased, he assisted the new company, overseeing product strategy, mergers and
acquisitions and development of the Latin American region.
Today, Alex Furth is co-founder, partner and president at P2G Capital Partners, an
independent private equity sponsor focusing on mid-market opportunities in companies
with technical products and services, engineered solutions and software.
