I have worked in the information technology field for 30 years. I started my career as a mainframe COBOL/CICS programmer/analyst and PC programmer. I was the IT manager and controller at a manufacturing facility in Angola for more than 13 years while owning and operating a computer and business consulting company. We performed numerous software updates, maintenance of current systems for multiple companies, new system integration, servers, PCs, phone systems, wiring, programming, etc. for many different clients in many differing industries.
I have worked at Trine University since October 2007 in several different capacities including senior programmer/analyst, Help Desk supervisor, IT operations manager and director of development services. Computer and employee training have been a part of each job position I have ever held. I am currently serving as the CIT department chair and assistant professor.
I live in Angola with my husband, Greg, of 26 years and have nine children; Jacob (Metallurgical Engineer at Praxair in Indianapolis - age 25), Victoria (Medical School IU Indianapolis – age 24), Cole (Senior DET at Trine – age 23), Teddy (Sophomore CIT at Trine – age 19), Julia (Sophomore Education/Political Science/Theology at Marian University in Indianapolis – age 19), Maximilian (eighth grade - age 13), Leo (seventh grade - age 12), Lucia (fifth grade - age 11), and Sophia (preschool - age 4); and, three cats! I have many passions! I love to read, especially Clive Cussler novels, and watch movies. I love playing with my kids and sports, especially basketball. My whole family loves music. Our favorite thing is to put Bon Jovi on while we are cooking and dance around the kitchen! I have been a board member of the Carlin Park Elementary PTO/Booster Club for 20 years. I have been interested in teaching for many years and have taught Junior Achievement, Freedom Academy and religious education classes whenever possible. I have served on Parent Advisory Committees at Angola Middle School and Carlin Park Elementary several times in the past. Fun fact: I LOVE to be the DJ for dances!
