My nursing career began in 2003 with my Associate of Science in Nursing from Indiana University, Purdue University, Fort Wayne (IPFW). I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017 from IPFW as well. One year later, I completed my Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in education from Western Governors University (WGU). Currently, I am pursuing my Doctorate in Nursing Education (DNP) through Arkansas State University.
My nursing background consists of medical/surgical nursing, office nursing, pre-admission testing, infusion nursing, post anesthesia recovery, endoscopy and surgical circulator. I hold a certification in surgical nursing called the CNOR. I entered academia after certain experiences alerted me to the needs of the student nurse population. I began teaching at Ivy Tech Community College, Fort Wayne, in 2018 and adjunct with WGU in 2021. I taught courses including Fundamentals, Med/Surg, OB/Peds, Mental Health, Skills lab, Critical Care and multiple clinicals prior to my transition to Trine.
I married my high school sweetheart in 2003 and we have three daughters (Bailea, Brianna, and Bella). My husband and I are active in our community and school. We have coached multiple sports throughout the years including soccer, basketball and softball. Our girls keep us busy as each play between 3-4 sports year-round. We have two rescue dogs (Maddox and Mickey) and a cat (Sox). When we have free time, we enjoy spending time outdoors and small vacations to the beach.
