I graduated in 1995 with a BS in physical therapy from the University of Toledo in consortium with the Medical College of Ohio. After graduation, I was employed by the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo Medical Center) from 1995-2002, where I specialized in the treatment of patients with spinal cord injury and wheelchair fitting/prescription. In 2002, I began teaching part-time in a PTA program while working in a skilled nursing facility. In 2004, I began teaching in the physical therapy program at the University of Findlay in Ohio. I earned my Ph.D. in exercise science/biomechanics with a minor in research and measurement in 2008 from the University of Toledo. After eleven years at UF, I came to Trine University and earned my certification in Manual Physical Therapy from the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) the same year. Currently, I serve as associate director of the Trine University DPT program and co-teach our Anatomy of Movement, Neuroscience, and Musculoskeletal courses. I continue to practice and provide outpatient PT services at Summit Rehabilitation in Northwood, Ohio. In 2017, I earned my certification in Equine Rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and provide rehabilitation services to horses in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. I am also a Licensed Para-Equestrian Classifier through the United States Equestrian Federation and evaluate equestrian athletes to determine at which level they compete in sanctioned competitions. In my free time, I love to do anything outside, including gardening, road-tripping/traveling, reading, biking, riding my horses, and hanging with my other animals.
