Minor
There has been an increased focus on biological engineering techniques utilized by industries that include, but are not limited to, pharmaceuticals, food processing, consumer products, agricultural and biotechnology firms. This increased focus from an industrial standpoint has resulted in increased demand for prospective employees that have a strong background in both engineering and life sciences. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a foundation to pursue a career in these industries.

This minor is open to all engineering students at Trine. For a chemical engineering student to complete his or her degree with this minor, only one extra course is required. With proper planning, a chemical engineering student can complete the program and this minor in four years and within the 12–18 hours covered by current full-time tuition.
For engineering student in a major other than chemical engineering an additional semester of coursework would typically be required to complete this minor.
