A minor in forensic psychology can be beneficial for anyone who is interested in understanding psychology’s role in the criminal justice system or alternatively who seeks to pursue graduate study within the field itself. This area of study serves as the intersection of the field of psychology and the criminal justice system. Forensic psychology is the application of psychology to the legal system and forensic psychologists work in many different legal environments and will write reports, give testimony, do direct treatment or work with therapeutic communities.
