Summary:

The Trine University “Sound of Thunder” Marching Band seeks an instructor for the university color guard. This position entails instructing the color guard; writing and teaching choreography; rehearsing the group. The successful applicant should have experience in competitive color guard; winter guard or drum corp experience is helpful but not required. A background instructing color guards (especially with post-high school members) is preferred. The color guard currently exclusively uses silks (no weapon experience required).

This person will coordinate with the Director of Bands to effectively integrate the guard into the marching band. This position will also entail developing the guard’s size and quality. Other duties include maintaining the guard’s inventory as needed. The ability to provide feedback to twirlers is helpful but not required. Time requirements include weekly rehearsals, home football games, and band camp, though specific schedule requirements will be determined between the director of music and the applicant.
