It was a perfect day for golf and a perfect day to support Trine University students.
More than 220 golfers enjoyed sun and a high temperature of 73 degrees to help raise
nearly $100,000 to support scholarships at the university’s 35th annual Alumni and Friends Golf Outing on Friday, Aug. 1.
The event raised $94,586 in addition to gifts in kind, with 224 golfers competing
over the morning and afternoon flights.
“We are truly grateful for 35 years of continued support and partnership from the
organizations and individuals who believe in our mission and give every student an
equal chance to succeed at Trine University,” said Michael Pacer, director of alumni
engagement and donor stewardship. “Your generosity provides vital scholarship funds
that make a real difference in our students’ lives, allowing them to attend Trine
University, discover their passions and find their ‘why’ during their time here.”
“Thank you for your continued generosity and support. In just 18 holes, you’ve helped
change lives.”

The winning team from the morning flight was sponsored by JH Specialty and was made
up of Zach Lear, a 2007 health promotions and adult recreational programming alumnus,
