In addition, Angela Bojrab, DPM, professor of biology at Trine, was recognized as the region’s Best Professor.
The honors were announced Sept. 24 as part of Fort Wayne Newspapers’ annual Readers’ Choice awards.
“There are many fine institutions throughout northeast Indiana, so to be honored in this way for six straight years is a testament to our focus on the student experience and our dedication to preparing our graduates to succeed, lead and serve in their careers and communities,” said Trine University President Tony Kline, Ph.D. “We’re grateful to the readers of the Fort Wayne Newspapers for once again affirming what we know so well — that Trine University is one of the Midwest’s premier institutions of higher learning.”
In an environment where many colleges and universities are struggling, Trine University continues to grow, welcoming the largest incoming class of new students to its Angola campus and a record number to its Brooks College of Health Professions in Fort Wayne this fall.
To accommodate ongoing growth, the university continues to expand and upgrade its physical facilities. The university opened the Trine Family Training Center, Thunder Dome and John and Mary Pellegrino Student Design Center this fall, and recently announced plans for the new James Center for Business and Leadership.
Professor, director
In addition to her teaching role at Trine, Dr. Bojrab serves as director of pre-health professions and direct entry programs.
She serves on the board of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (NAAHP) and recently co-presented at that organization’s national conference.
“Besides being a very accomplished educator who is praised by her students, Dr. Bojrab has been key in developing programs and processes at Trine University to help students move on to successful healthcare careers,” said Sam Drerup, Ph.D., dean of the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences. “We are proud of her for earning this well-deserved honor and grateful for everything she does for Trine University.”
Trine University student Claire Schmaltz spent her summer applying her environmental science and biology studies as an ecological crew member with Battelle Energy Alliance at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
This year’s Book Night at Trine University will provide the opportunity to help others while adding to your personal library.
Trine University promoted faculty and staff members in multiple departments to new roles over the summer.
