Jeremy Goossens, director of esports at Trine University, earned honorable mention
from ECAC Esports, the comprehensive collegiate esports league where Trine competes,
for the fall 2025 season.
ECAC announced the recognition as part of its Coach of the Season and Director of
the Season honors for the fall.
Trine’s varsity Overwatch team finished fourth in the nation in the ECAC’s Titans
division, the league’s top division.
Twenty of Trine’s 26 esports teams qualified for national playoffs this past semester.
The Valorant JV finished second in their division, while Overwatch JV finished in
the top three.
With teams spanning North America, ECAC hosts two seasons each year: one in the fall
and one in the spring. Each season features a seven-week regular season, which is
formatted either as a round-robin or Swiss style, depending on the game. This is followed
by a playoff period lasting three or four weeks.
