DeEllen Brown
DeEllen Brown has been a professional geologist for more than 40 years with experience
in geology, management, and the environmental fields including petroleum exploration,
site assessment and remediation; hazardous waste, and regional coordination (Department
of Defense (DoD)) with the Navy. She loves studying and exploring all science has
to offer. Her father was a geologist as well.
Raised and schooled in Oklahoma City, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Geology
at the University of Oklahoma and worked in petroleum exploration for several years. She
then moved to Austin, TX and shifted to taking environmental science courses work
in the environmental field.
She moved to California two years later and worked as a Geologist in the environmental
industry (mostly in site assessment and remediation) while obtaining her Masters in
Business Administration degree from the University of Redlands in California. After
about 10 years, she began working for the United States Navy as a civilian in Site
Assessment and Remediation and later as a Department of Defense Regional Environmental
Coordinator and retired after over 24 years. In April 2019, she moved back to Oklahoma
City to be near family and friends.
She has taught at Trine over 14 years and enjoys the flexibility of online instruction. She
has played tennis for over 40 years, has completed eight half marathons, and love
dogs!
